How The Expo at the World Market Center will Impact Las Vegas Tradeshows

By April 12, 2019 April 18th, 2019 No Comments

An exciting new development is coming to Las Vegas in 2020—The Expo at the World Market Center is slated to open that summer and expand the already extensive expo space. The World Market Center is owned and operated by International Market Centers, who are looking forward to expanding their offerings to the Las Vegas tradeshow industry.

The $90 million tradeshow center broke ground in January, though actual construction is expected to begin in April this year and be completed by the summer of 2020.

This state-of-the-art, purpose-built facility is an investment in not only the tradeshow industry in Las Vegas but also the local workforce. International Market Centers is seeking to hire local workers at the prevailing market rates to complete construction. This move is a win-win situation for not only the trade show industry and all those that exhibit but also for the city of Las Vegas.

About The Expo at World Market Center Las Vegas

The new exhibit space is a welcome addition to the center, and plans include many amenities that will appeal to exhibitors and attendees alike.

The center is designed with two large exhibit halls. The North Hall will encompass 97,684 gross square feet and South will have 97,101 gross square feet—enough for up to 1,000 exhibit booths. The Expo will also feature a large lobby area with a dedicated registration area. Other amenities that tradeshow professionals, exhibitors, and attendees will love are the onsite shuttle bus depot, attached parking garage, and two permanent “grab and go” food service areas.

The Future of The Expo

We’re already looking forward to seeing how The Expo becomes an important part of the Las Vegas tradeshow industry. The Expo is already set to be the new home of the semi-annual Las Vegas Market, a tradeshow featuring more than 4,000 gift, home décor, and furniture resources, which take over more than 5 million square feet of exhibition space every event. Event planners are expecting to use The Expo’s facilities for the home décor and gift areas of the event, as well as for check-in and registration services and to serve as the gateway to the entire experience.

The Expo was carefully planned to increase the traffic flow throughout the entire World Market Center so that attendees will have an easier time moving through exhibition halls. In addition to the January and July Las Vegas Market shows, The Expo is also anticipating plenty of use by other tradeshows, corporate events, and private functions.
